Group Volunteering Is your group looking to volunteer with Tech Goes Home? Please complete the following steps: 1. Read the Frequently Asked Questions section, available here . 2. Email the TGH program staff describing your group's interest and availability. Send an email to volunteer@techgoeshome.org We will respond with your next steps. 3. Meet with TGH staff to discuss volunteering opportunities. If your group’s interest and availability align with TGH’s current volunteer needs and priorities, we will schedule a call to discuss our volunteer opportunities with you in more detail. During this call, we will review: The process for engaging and registering volunteers Time commitment, scheduling and timeline Your group’s goals in volunteering and how we can support those goals Our expectations of volunteers 4. If necessary, complete a CORI If you are interested in volunteering in a program or event that includes interaction with our learners, we are required by law to run a background check. Therefore, you may be asked to complete a CORI Acknowledgement Form. WHO WE SERVE In the past five years alone: 21,000 learners have graduated from TGH, and we have distributed 15,000+ new computers. The TGH community of learners includes people of all ages, from 3 to 94, living in communities throughout Massachusetts. TGH deliberately partners with communities most affected by the structural injustices at the root of digital exclusion. Of all TGH learners: 90% live in households that are considered “very low income” (HUD 2022) 85% identify as BIPOC (including 34% who identify as Black and 34% who identify as Latin) 54% are speak a primary language other than English 35% of adult learners are unemployed.
